The hustle and bustle of a Victorian Christmas will be brought to life with a Victorian market, Dickensian characters, street entertainers, music and more at Gloucester Quays and the historic Docks.
Traditionally held over a long weekend, Gloucester Quays Victorian Christmas Market has now been extended to just over 5 weeks.
Gloucester’s impressive historic Victorian quayside and Gloucester Quays Outlet acts as the magnificent backdrop for a very Victorian Christmas experience. Explore an authentic Victorian market, the largest free entry Christmas Market in the South West with over 250 stalls and producers selling high quality food, drink and hand-made festive gifts and enjoy choirs, brass bands and lots more.
Keep an eye out for a host of colourful and larger than life characters, including street urchins, ‘wonder tonic’ salesman, toffs, Fagin-style gang masters, barber, dentist, flower seller, little match girl, fine ladies, not-so-fine ladies, beggars and thieves…all under the watchful eye of the faithful ‘peeler’. These fantastic characters really bring the market to life – and you never know what they’ll do next!
There will be entertainment from a variety of choirs, brass bands, seasonal live music and street performers, together with a traditional carousel.
