Coronavirus and your holiday at Briarfields Touring Park

We are delighted to be re-opening on the 2nd December and our area is Tier 2!!!

If your own area is Tier 1 or Tier 2, you can safely visit Briarfields Motel & Touring Park (adhering to all safety and government guidelines).

Sadly, if you’re in Tier 3, you will not be able to visit us. However, the next government local area review is on 16th December and will be reviewed regularly after that.

Please note, our office is still on very limited hours. If you have an affected booking, please email and we will get back to you but it may take a few days.


Update 2nd November @ 9:30

The motel remains open for workers that cannot work from home – please email for availability and to book.

On Saturday 31st October, the Prime Minister announced an England-wide lock-down, commencing this Thursday, 5th November. It is expected to last until 3rd December. This means that many of you will either have stays cut short or won’t be able to come at all.

We intend to re-open the park on the 3rd December as the law permits. We will be sending e-mails to everyone holding bookings within the lock-down dates, to assist you with the available options and re-booking. We will be working through bookings in order of arrival date which may take a little time, so please bear with us. For any queries please email and we will get back to you but it may take a few days.

As, and when, the government releases further details of its plans we will keep you all updated on this page.

We are delighted to announce that we have re-opened our washroom facilities today 🙂

We kindly ask that you use the hand sanitiser provided before entering. In order to maintain social distancing there are some restrictions and a limited number of showers, toilets and wash basins will be available. The facilities will be closed for a full deep clean between 11am and 1pm and will be cleaned regularly throughout.

We ask that wherever possible you do use your own facilities as much as possible.

We are re-opening from the 4th July 2020!!!!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all our lovely guests who have allowed us to transfer their deposits to new dates in the future – this has helped us immensely during these unprecedented times and we are very grateful for your support.

We cannot wait to welcome you back as we have missed each and every one of you. At this early stage safety is our number one priority and we will be taking small steps initially. Therefore, we can only welcome guests who have their own toilet and showering facilities as our washrooms will remain closed for the time being.

We understand that this will be disappointing for some and it is not a decision we have taken lightly. We always place great importance on the cleanliness of our facilities, the safety of our guests and the quality of your holiday experience in normal times. Given the enhanced frequency and duration of cleaning requirements and risks involved to both our valued customers and our team we have taken this difficult decision to put everyone’s safety before the financial benefit of the business.

Our 3 glamping pods (Buttercup, Daisy and Bluebell) are open as usual and guests will have access to their own individual washrooms.

On site there are some changes to ensure we meet government guidelines and social distancing measures; our priority is the safety of our guests and staff members.

We are therefore only able to open our hard standing and fully serviced pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents or other units with their own facilities. Our laundry room (one booking in at any one time and use the honestly box provided) water taps, toilet waste disposals and recycling points are operational but ask you to maintain social distancing at all times and use the hand sanitiser provided.

As always we accept bookings for couples, family and friends, at this time. However, no group bookings of more than 6 people (government guidelines) will be accepted. Due to social distancing we are going to have to say no to day visitors, please only bring the guests you have booked in.

We do know that there will be initial teething problems as this is new for all of us but we will do our very best to get it right. We will of course keep refining and renewing our ways of working in line with government guidelines and keep you updated of any changes in advance.

So what you can expect from us when we re-open:

  • Washrooms remained closed initially – this will be reviewed regularly and but we are hoping to be able to re-open our toilets/sinks from August.
  • Washing up sinks are open with a reduced number to ensure social distancing
  • Laundry room with honesty box is open but only one booking permitted at any one time
  • All disposal points have clear markings along with hand sanitising stations
  • All refuse and recycling points have clear markings along with hand sanitising stations
  • Hand sanitising stations will be freely available around the park
  • Taps/Electric hook up points will be regularly disinfected
  • All booking balances need to be paid 7 days prior to your arrival
  • Sorry no visitors to the park – only bring the people in your unit
  • No group bookings of more than 6 (inline with government guidance)
  • Contactless check-in  – please ring the number outside reception when you arrive and we’ll come out to you
  • All paperwork (site plan, dog walks, local information) is now available online for you to download and peruse at your leisure
  • A contact number is freely available for you to call and ask us any questions/information you may have if you can’t find us on the park
  • All noticeboards have been updated with the latest information on the local buses etc

Coronavirus – Updated 22th May @ 14:30pm

Our office, reception, and caravan park are temporarily closed in line with government guidance.

We are busy maintaining the park along with home schooling 3 children so if you need to get in touch please contact us via email: reception@

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday 10th May, it would appear that we may be able to re-open early July. (We understand this is subject to the ‘R’ number being below 1).  We are awaiting further details and will keep this page updated as things become more clear.

We are really missing all our wonderful guests and can’t wait to welcome you back when its safe to do so!

Our message from 22nd March…….

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we taken the very difficult decision to temporarily close our park from Sunday 22nd March, until the government advise it is safe for people to travel again.

We are listening to our hearts; if we all stand together we will get through this extremely difficult time together. We have not been ordered to close but we both feel that it is the right thing to do for our country in the battle against COVID-19. We must all play our part in trying to reduce non-essential travel and social distancing to protect our NHS and support services.

Earlier this week, our wonderful team were all facing being laid off.  We cannot tell you how relieved we were to find out on Friday that our team’s jobs will be protected.  In the past month we have had hundreds of cancellations, following a winter of improvements, upgrades and site repairs.  We know it’s going to be a struggle to continue paying our bills but we are very determined to get through this.

We would like to thank each and every one of our valued customers for your co-operation and patience at this uncertain time.

Our business insurance does not cover us for loss of earnings because COVID-19; it is not on any insurers’ list of diseases.  The financial burden for us is enormous.

We are asking our wonderful customers not to ask for refunds, but to defer holidays to later in the year, move to 2021 or hold balances as credits for future use.

We cannot put into words just how sad we are about closing our park but send each and every one of you our very best wishes and ask you to look after each other.
