Accessibility

Members of staff are available to assist guests during reception opening hours. Outside these hours guests may ring the emergency telephone number displayed on the reception door to obtain assistance.

Roads

All roads at Briarfields Motel and Touring Caravan Park are tarmac; therefore, can be easily seen or detected by the partially sighted by ‘tapping’. The roads do not have kerbs and the tarmac edges of the road run into the pitches with minor differences in height. There are speed bumps at several intervals around the park which are clearly labelled with white triangles. The speed limit on all roads around the park is 10mph and signs are displayed at intervals around the park.

Pitches/Park Layout

Pitches/Park Layout

The touring park is level and is made up of grass, hard-standing and fully serviced pitches all served by a tarmac road.

The park offers grass pitches (all with or without electricity) which are clearly marked. These grass pitches are adjacent to the heated washrooms suitable for reasonably ambulant guests.

Fully serviced pitches are available with water, electricity and drainage; these are level hard-standings made up of concrete and cotswold shingle.

The hard-standing pitches are a mix of concrete and cotswold shingle for the unit and cotswold shingle for the awnings/cars. All pitches have space for 1 unit, awning and car.

There are a number of hard-standing pitches which are deemed unsuitable for wheelchair use.

Customers with special requirements should make it known at the time of booking and every effort will be made to accommodate their requirements. Please pop your requests in the ‘Special Request’ box when booking online so we can do our best to accommodate you ahead of your arrival.

Disabled guests have priority for booking pitches nearest to the spotlessly clean heated washroom facilities.

Paths

All paths around the washrooms/reception/motel are fully paved to give access to all. Paths in and around the park including electronic barrier are mostly gravel and level.

There is a step into the laundry room which does not have a ramp so please ask at reception if you need assistance.

Paths

Washrooms

The heated washrooms are centrally located in the middle of the park. There is a fully accessible washroom (accessed by a radar key) comprising of toilet, wash basin and shower. The washroom has a mixer lever tap over the wash basin, grab rails, seat for the shower, non slip floor tiles and pull cord emergency alarm.

Lighting

The lighting in the communal areas of the motel and the touring washrooms is operated via motion sensors and will automatically light up and switch off when guests enter or leave the buildings.

All electric pedestals have a light on the top of the box which will automatically light up the pedestal when it starts going dusk and will automatically switch off when it starts coming dawn.

Many of our paths have motion solar lights to illuminate the walkway.

Assistance Dogs

Briarfields is a dog friendly environment (apart from the motel) with many dog bins provided and a little orchard. The dog exercise area is just a 5 minute walk from site and is highlighted on the site information issued on arrival.
